The Rb 2600 has 2 humbucking active pickups place in the same casing with eachother. Its got a 24 fret rosewood fretboard. It has volume and bass and treble preamp controls. The active electonic make this bass sound very nice. One thing that they could change is the fact that it only comes with a natural satin finnish. Its a six string so the neck will be wide, but it is very easy to play, it took me just a few minutes to adjust from a 5 string neck to this neck. The thru body stringing adds sustain to this stick. The bridge is extremely well thought out. Before, you could not move the strings beyond the back of the bridge if you needed to to intonate it properly, they have solved that problem by allowing each saddle to slide forward and back beyond the back of the bridge. It is equiped with the Buzz Feitan tuning system. Im not sure if it is a great advancement, but it certainly does not slip out of tune.

This bass fits well for almost any style of music. I have played everything from funk fusion to rock to blues and find that it sounds excellent in all areas. The rich/full sound i get out of it makes this stick one of the best i have heard, and for the price at which i paid, $600, it can't be beat. I play it through a crossed-over SWR SM-400s head, with a workingmans 210 cab and a JBL 15. The pickup signal is pretty hot, so you dont have to turn the gain up quite as much. live, this bass sounds incredible, however i have not heard it through a studio onto a recording. One bad thing is that you cant get any tone controls out of it, nor can you get that sound that Jaco used to get with the neck pickup, due to the fact that their isnt one. still for what you can do with it, it sound excellent.

Action, Fit, & Finish: 9
Everything about this bass when i received it was great except the pickup was placed as low in the body as it could have been, but with a small phillips head screwdriver that was fixed fairly easily. however, because i bought this at a local music store, i am not sure if they set it up before they hung it up on the wall.

Reliability/Durability: 10
Everything about this bass is solid. It is very dependable. however, i always carry a backup bass one a gig becuase you never know when disaster may strike. Yet i would trust this bass one a gig without a backup if i had to.

In the few years that i have been playing i have to say that this is the best bass i have owned. In the past i have owned a Jackson Concert Series 5 string (which is now my backup), an Ibanez 4 fretless and a Fender american deluxe active Jazz. Washburn has suprised me with this series of bass. A year ago i would not have touched a washburn anything, but now they have made a quality product. If they keep it up they will build a name for themselves in the bass department. and at $600 you can't beat it. sticks that sound like this normally sell for twice as much.
