Widespread Panic was formed in 1982 when Washburn endorsee, vocalist/guitarist John Bell and guitarist started playing together in Athens, Georgia. Their loosely Southern rock meets jazz meets the blues lent itself to extended improvisational flights. Their constant touring schedule has won them a loyal grass roots following throughout the nation. Capricorn Records signed them to a deal in 1990 and the band has released seven strong records through the label. John Bell plays a Washburn HB35 hollowbody electric and the NV100.
