the moment i picked up a washburn pilsen i knew that this was going to be the guitar i was going to be playing from now on. the neck fits right into my hand, the tone works so well with music we play, the body has a great classic shape to it, i only needed to change a few things for myself. the reason i chose one pickup was because live, i only used the bridge pickup, and having the neck pickup with the switch was just making it harder. i would always hit the switch by mistake live, so i wanted to eliminate both the switch and the neck pickup. and by doing this i eliminated two of the four volume knobs. but i still wanted to make another adjustment. i always played with the tone all the way up, and therefore took the tone knob off as well to avoid any of other issues live. this left me with a really simple design, that was easy to deal with, left no room for error and still kicked ass live.
