Buffalo Grove, January 17, 2014 - Washburn Guitars is proud to introduce to its Bluegrass Series 3 new banjos. As Bluegrass and folk music have created a whole new generation of musicians looking to explore and rediscover the joys of pickin', these instruments are essential to the creative musician's tool box.
Perfect for fans of folk music, old timey music and clawhammer style players, the B102 is an all maple open back 5 string banjo. Similar in design to our open back banjos from the early 20th century, it features an aluminum rim, Remo® head for best tone, maple bridge with ebony tip for superb tone transfer and die cast tuners for smooth tuning. Comes strung with D'Addario® strings and retails for $622.90.
The B6 is an open back 6 string banjo aimed at guitar players who crave that good ole banjo twang but are not yet familiar with how to play a traditional banjo. Tuned the same as guitar, it features a mahogany rim, mahogany neck with 22 fret rosewood fingerboard and smooth action diecast tuners for tuning stability. The distressed Remo® head looks cool and has a warmer, fuller tone. It supports an ebony tipped bridge for best transfer of tone. The B6 comes with D'Addario® strings and retails for $533.90.
The B10 is a 5 string banjo with a mahogany resonator finished in gloss sunburst for increased volume and projection. It features a mahogany neck topped with a 22 fret rosewood fingerboard featuring unique deluxe pearl inlays and diecast tuners for smooth tuning. An authentic Remo® head supports an ebony tipped maple bridge for pristine articulation and a chrome armrest adds to playing comfort. The B10 is the perfect banjo for the budding Bluegrasser and will provide a lifetime of musical enjoyment. Comes strung with D'Addario® strings and retails for $533.90.
