For the 4th year in a row Washburn has once again partnered with Wacken and W:O:A Metal Battle which is a contest for upcoming metal bands that takes place in more than 30 countries. This year's Metal Battle world final took place during Wacken 2012, the world’s largest metal festival. Nearly 100,000 metalheads celebrate the metal cult each year at this sold out festival.
When Metal Battle 2012 was over, the Doom Metal band Hamferð from the Faroe Islands ruled the final at the Wacken Open Air 2012. The band, which was founded in 2008, set new standards at their gig on the W.E.T. Stage on Wednesday evening and came out on top against the other 28 finalists. With this victory the Faroese not only won a world-wide record deal with Nuclear Blast but received an endorsement deal with Washburn guitars and further prizes.

Wacken & W:0:A Metal Battle 2012 was once again a huge success for Washburn.
