Washburn has been building banjos since the late 1800s. These instruments were considered some of the finest of their day. This heritage is not lost in the instruments we handcraft today. Pros & amateurs alike choose a Washburn for its outstanding tone, build & value.
We are proud to introduce to our Bluegrass Series a unique Mandolin Banjo. Enabling mandolin players to emulate banjo tones as well as being a bit louder than standard mandolin, the Mandolin Banjo will add a new dimension to your performances.
Based on Washburn’s Mandolin Banjos of the 1910s and 1920s, the BM3 is a 4 chorus 13.75” scale Mandolin Banjo. It features a walnut rim and resonator back plate, mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, and open gear tuners. The resonator is removable to drop the volume. The genuine Remo® head supports a maple bridge with ebony tip. Tuned like a mandolin, G-D-A-E, the BM3 opens up a whole new world of sonic possibilities. Strung with D’Addario strings.
