1. What year was my instrument or unit* manufactured? By looking at your serial number, the first two numbers* in most cases will indicate the year of manufacture, For example, 8901827, indicates the unit was made 1989. In some rare occasions, such as limited edition models, please feel free to contact Customer Service at 1-800-877-6863. Also check our Guitar Archives.

*Some serial numbers have been printed with just a single number to identify the year. If your guitar's serial # begins with 240000, it most likely is a 1982 or 1992 model.

2. How can I get a custom made instrument? Note: Washburn will only customize our current line of USA made guitars and basses. We do not build individual custom tailored designs.Custom made instruments must be requested at your local Authorized Washburn Dealer under all circumstances. 4. How do I get replacement parts for my instrument or units*?*Please note that the age of the unit will have a bearing on whether replacement parts are available direct from the factory. If you do contact the factory, please be prepared to have the model number and serial number of the unit available along with a full description of the replacement part that you need.

In order to get replacement parts for Washburn and Oscar Schmidt, please contact your local Authorized Washburn Dealer, www.allparts.com, www.wdmusicproducts.com, or www.stewmac.com. 5. I need general maintenance on my guitar. Where can I get information? There are many places on the web that can assist you in set up and maintenance of your instruments. Here are just a few that may be very helpful.
www.frets.com, www.guitar.about.com, www.ultimateguitarpage.com, www.guitarelectronics.com, http://users.powernet.co.uk/guitars/setuptut.htm.

6. How can I get a schematic or owner's manual for my gear? For Sound Tech, AudioChoice or Randall manuals or schematics, please call us at 1-800-877-6863. Please have the model and serial number of the unit ready for the Customer Service Rep. Not all manuals and schematics are available in PDF. We do not offer manuals for any or our string instruments, including all Washburn and Oscar Schmidt guitars, basses or bluegrass instruments. Please visit your local music or online retailer for instructional/maintenance books or videos.

7. How can I find an Authorized Washburn Dealer or Service Center in my area? In order to find a local Authorized Dealer or Service Center in your area, you can check out dealer locator. If you have trouble finding a dealer to help you please call us at 1-800-877-6863.

8. Which dealer in my area has the instrument or unit* I'm looking for in stock? Because dealer inventory changes frequently, we do not have a listing of which items a certain dealer has in their store. By going to our dealer locator, you can find your local dealer and call them for information. If you have trouble, please contact us at 1-800-877-6863 for assistance.

9. Which model guitar or instrument do I have? Sending us a digital picture would be the very best tool to identify your guitar, but if you don't have access to one, please be prepared with as much information about the instrument as possible. This includes serial number, body shape, color, pick up configuration, number of frets, type of bridge…etc etc. We do our best to identify guitars, but some may be prototypical models that were not standard production models, and information on these guitars is limited. Also check our Guitar Archives for more information. If you have a vintage instrument we no longer have any information on, please contact Gruhn Guitars at www.gruhn.com (vintage guitar experts) or Elderly Instruments at www.elderly.com.

10. What is my instrument or unit worth?
Determining worth on an instrument is very difficult without being able to see, hear and play the instrument. Washburn will only offer you the original list price of the instrument or unit. The best way of finding the worth of your instrument or unit is to visit http://www.elderly.com/cgi-bin/elderly/evalform.pl Please make a note that any used instrument is usually only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. If you'd like to check the list price of your guitar, please call us at 800-877-6863. Please have the model and serial number ready for the Customer Service Rep.

11. Do you sell factory direct? Washburn and its affiliate companies do not sell factory direct. You must locate a local Authorized dealer to purchase any instruments or units, including cases.

15. How can I get Washburn merchandise? Washburn merchandise can be ordered online at our secure online store.

16. My Autoharp needs maintenance and/or parts. Where do I go? For all autoharp parts, including strings, chord bars, felts and all accessories, please contact Elderly Instruments at www.elderly.com. For autoharp repairs and general maintenance, please check out http://home.swbell.net/autoharp/. Between these two sites, you can access all of the information, parts and accessories that you need.

17. I have an Equis System, but the XLR jack does not work. Why?
In order for the Equis system's XLR jack to function, a ¼" "dummy jack" must be in the regular ¼ " input jack to activate the electronics. When using the XLR jack, the on board preamp controls will shut off. The idea for the XLR is to run direct into a mixing board or recorder in which the EQ or controls on the mixing board will control volume and EQ.
