Richie Owens
Richie Owens was brought up in a bluegrass family and began playing Dobro when he was just a boy. By the time he was in his teens, he was building and fixing his own instruments. Today, Richie designs, builds or repairs instruments for the likes of Nils Lofgren, Ron Wood and The Dixie Chicks. He recently was on tour with Dolly Parton as a featured performer, playing mandolin on her “Vintage Tour”. Richie collaborated with Washburn in developing their new M-120 Mandolin. So what’s different about this instrument? Here’s what Richie has to say:. “Since the 1920’s the basic design of the Mandolin has been the same. Way back when, fiddle players and women mostly played them. This was reflected in the overall small design of the instrument. Today, more and more guitar players are picking up the mandolin. They’re often looking for a bigger sound and approach the instrument with a more aggressive style. The M-120 is aimed at giving them a more comfortable, high quality instrument with a “throatier” tone and more volume.” Richie Owens Website Richie Owens on MySpace Washburn Models Played R60BCE R60RCE M120K

Marzi Montazeri
“I don’t just play Washburn guitars, I experience my life with them live and in the studio with both electric and acoustics as my number one tool of musical expression!!!” With groundbreaking musicianship and energetic showmanship, Marzi Montazeri, a Guitarist/Producer and Artist, has dominated the metal scene in his hometown of Houston, TX. Marzi was the one constant draw for fans throughout the years bringing varying styles to his music and redefining electric guitar technique while changing the sound, structure, and style of the instrument itself. In the 1990’s Marzi joined Superjoint Ritual, with long time friend Phil Anselmo as lead vocalist and recorded with him the bands first two demos. Since its release, Marzi has played hundreds of shows and has also produced and written new material that further exploits his mastery of the electric guitar medium, while it also demonstrates to the listener a few techniques that truly defy even the most educated guitar players qualified explanation. By March of 2010, Marzi rejoined forces with Phil Anselmo and Housecore Records to work on what is to be Anselmo’s first solo project since Pantera, “Philip H. Anselmo & the Illegals” The debut record reached 34 on Billboard charts. Jennifer Batten
“I’ve found that all my Washburns over the last two decades I’ve been with them, are first and foremost; comfortable. Also of the utmost importance as a frequent flyer, the necks are super reliable, and of course they sound killer!” The buzz on Jennifer Batten rose from the guitar underground, and the guitar magazines promptly began chronicling her savvy musicianship and highly original approach to the electric guitar. A major turning point came when she was selected from over one hundred guitarists to play in Michael Jackson’s highly skilled band which toured the world for one and a half years playing for over four and a half million people. In 2012 Sony released an exciting live Wembley Stadium show DVD as part of their BAD 25th anniversary package. Jennifer wasted no time after the “Bad” Tour’s grand finale, diving into work on her debut album with renown producer (and x- Stevie Wonder guitarist) Michael Sembello. Upon “Above, Below, and Beyond’s”, release in the spring of ’92, she was asked again to join Michael Jackson for his upcoming “Dangerous Tour”. In January ’93, she joined Jackson to partake in Superbowl XXVII’s half time entertainment which aired to one and half billion people in 80 nations. It was the largest audience in television history. Her follow up CD “Momentum” which was heavily influenced by world music, was released just before she left for Michael Jackson’s final global tour in support of the HIStory CD in 1997. In the spring of ’98 Jeff Beck asked Jennifer to join his band. They joined forces for 3 years on the CDs “Who Else”, and “You Had It Coming” which were both supported by world tours. A DVD is available of this collaboration entitled “Jeff Beck Live in Tokyo 1999”. Jennifer has authored two music books and has released three solo CDs venturing from world beat and rock n roll, to electronica. The last CD “Whatever” is also accompanied by a 90 minute DVD which includes some of the films from her one woman multimedia show where she plays guitar in synch with her self made projected films, as well as unreleased music videos, and a guitar lesson. During 2011 she did a guitar residency for the Cirque Du Soleil show “Zumanity” in Las Vegas. In the last few years she joined forces with truefire.com to record instructional DVDs/ downloads. She currently has a rock soloing course, a rhythm course, and the latest release is called “Ultra Intervallic Licks”. She continues to tour the globe in various formats, from bands, to solos shows, to clinics, and master classes. In Jan 2016 she received the She Rocks “Icon” award and was inducted into Guitar Player Magazine’s “Gallery of the Greats”. 2016 was jam packed with recording and touring in various formats starting with a USA tour called “The Ultimate Guitar Experience”.
Marc Rizzo
At 27, Marc Rizzo was already a household name among metal fans before finishing “Colossal Myopia”, his first solo record. A shredder’s shredder, Marc was a founding member of the immensely successful metal act “Ill Nino” with whom he recorded and toured. After leaving Ill Nino, he joined Soulfly in 2003 and played guitar on their fourth record “Prophecy” and every release since then. Rizzo also recorded and toured with Cavalera Conspiracy (a reunion of Sepultura’s Max & Igor Cavalera) and launched his own Death Metal project, INPSYCHOBLEEDIA. Marc Rizzo is one of the new breed of young guitarists in contemporary bands who has stepped out recently with solo projects that reveal a phenomenal command of the guitar. His latest solo record, “LEGIONNAIRE” reveals Rizzo to be a master musician with deep musical roots in metal, classical and flamenco guitar and is a much needed breath of fresh air to the instrumental rock genre. Guitar sales have been up and young musicians have been looking for younger, contemporary players to learn from. Marc Rizzo proves again on his solo records why he stands out from the rest, with an arsenal of staggering guitar chops that are bound to start a large groundswell in the guitar community, as guitar records of this skill and intensity are in short supply. Marc has built quite a substantial following through his years of touring and recording with Soulfly, Cavalera Conspiracy and INPSYCHOBLEEDIA. The Shrapnel Label group has long been an indy leader and is known for recording superior musicians and their phenomenal guitar records featuring guitarists such as Yngwie Malmsteen, Tony MacAlpine, Marty Friedman, Vinnie Moore, Jake E Lee, Michael Schenker etc. Marc Rizzo is paving the way for a new generation of guitar oriented recordings. www.marcrizzo.net

Michael Sweet
When you’ve fronted one of the most trailblazing groups of the MTV generation, written a stable of Billboard charting singles, filled arenas all the world over, said goodbye at the peak of it all, took stock in a thriving solo career, got the band back together for yet another record breaking run and even took a stint co-leading one of the most legendary classic rock acts ever, then you undoubtedly have a story to share. But there’s still much more to Michael Sweet than selling over 10 million albums with Stryper or formerly singing and guitar slinging for Boston. There’s an equally riveting behind the scenes story packed to the brim with triumph, heartbreak and redemption that’s finally being told with unvarnished candor through not only the musical means of the solo CD I’m Not Your Suicide, but also the immensely anticipated autobiography Honestly, both of which came out last year. Stryper remains hard rock’s best kept secret. However, that secret has been hidden in plain sight for far too long. Sure they’re Christian, but they’re also decidedly metal. That’s the first thing that should come to mind when you think of the black and yellow stripes as well as immortal hits such as “To Hell With The Devil,” “Calling On You,” “Free,” “Honestly” and “Always There For You.” The iconic quartet—Michael Sweet [vocals, guitar], Robert Sweet [drums], Oz Fox [guitar], and Tim Gaines [bass]— have built a formidable catalog since first forming in 1983. They’ve sold over 10 million albums worldwide, garnered GRAMMY Award nominations, scored DOVE Awards, sold out arenas everywhere, and inspired one of the most diehard fan bases in history. The band’s signature style of overpowering melodies, harmony solos and thunderous rhythms is certainly its trademark, but it hits harder than ever on 2013’s No More Hell To Pay. Stryper’s new album “Fallen” is scheduled to launch oct 16th on Frontiers records. Michael has also signed a deal with RatPak Records and will be releasing a new solo album April/May of 2016.
